With a special emphasis on candidates from ASEAN and low-income countries. This scholarship program aims to empower individuals with outstanding academic in the field of animal science, social and culture exchange to excel in their chosen fields of study. Through the student exchange program, participants not only enhance their own knowledge and skills but also lay the foundation for progress and development within their home countries and strengthening cooperation networks with other countries. During this program, students are required to do a research collaboration with lecturers in the Faculty of Animal Science UGM with a target publishing a research article in a conference or journal. Student have to prepare an activity plan describing the research topic and proposed activities.

Application Deadline Extended: The 7th Summer Course Program on Challenges and Opportunities for Livestock and Agricultural Production in Responding to the Issue of the Global Food Crisis

Introduction

The continuous growth and transformation of the livestock sector offer substantial opportunities for agricultural development, food security gains, poverty reduction, and improved human nutrition. The sector can also empower rural women and youth, improve natural resource-use efficiency, and increase the resilience of households to cope with climate shocks. 

Livestock contributes to nearly 40 percent of total agricultural output in developed countries and 20 percent in developing countries. It supports more than 1 billion people worldwide. Thirty-four percent of global food protein supply comes from livestock.
