AAACU 22nd Biennial Conference “Harnessing Education as a Vehicle for Sustained Growth in Asia”

Submission Dateline: 31 July 2018

The Conference Committee is inviting all active AAACU member-institutions to submit
scientific abstracts for oral presentation addressing any of the following topics:

  • Impact in climate change
  • Renewable energy
  • Poverty alleviation
  • Gender and development
  • Health and peace
  • Advanced technologies employed in agriculture for improved productivity and provitability
  • Research partnership (collaboration) to address regional priorities
  • knowledge protection, transfer and commercialization
  • Food and nutrition security
  • Environmental concervation
  • Innovation in education
  • Trends i higher and advanced education
  • Science and risk coomunication

Students Summit and Participation of AAACU non-member institutions

  1. For students wishing to present papers in the Student’s Summit, the same topics above also apply.
  2. Associate members of AAACU (those SUCs who have signified in writing their intention to join
    and have not yet been officially admitted) are also eligible to participate in the Conference.
    Other institutions may also submit paper for presentations

Submissions:

  • All abstracts must be received by the Conference Committee STARTING 1 June 2018.
    DEADLINE for submission is 31 July 2018.
  • The Conference Committee in VSU is responsible for selecting papers for presentation and
    allocating them time to a program session.
  • Authors whose abstract will be selected (on the basis of abstract topic and quality of
    submissions) will give a 15-minute oral presentation about their research and participate in a
    facilitated group discussion.
  • Authors will receive an email confirming the receipt of their submission ON OR BEFORE 31
    August 2018.
  • Authors whose abstracts have been accepted must submit to the Conference Committee the
    full paper by
    30 September 2018.
  • Any changes in the presentation details (e.g., name, title) and or presenter after 31 August
    2018 will no longer be entertained.
  • Papers accepted for presentation are also required to prepare a poster of their paper to be
    displayed at the Conference Hall. The poster should be printed on 30” wide x 40” high (76 cm x 103 cm) tarpaulin with high resolution photos. It should include the following:
    – Title
    – Full name of authors, designation and institutional affiliation
    – Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Conclusion and Recommendation

Conference Registration Fees


Students – Php 3,000.00 inclusive of 7 meals from Oct 15 evening until October 17, 2018; 4 snacks
(Oct 16-17, 2018), 3 nights accommodation in dorm-type (air-con)(Oct 15-17), conference kit, and
welcome dinner with AAACU members (Oct 17).
For students wishing to extend until the 19
th Oct to participate in the field tour, an additional Php
2,000.00
will be collected to cover for meals and the tour.

  • Bank statement (2017-2018), minimum 1,500USD
  • English proficiency certificate TOEFL minimum 500 or equivalent

Saga University Program for Academic Exchange (SPACE) 2018-2019

SPACE (Saga University Program for Academic Exchange) is a special program designed
for international students from affiliated universities around the world. It offers a unique
curriculum of Japanese language classes and courses in the students’ major in English and
Japanese. Participating students deepen their knowledge and understanding of their major
field of study, and/or of Japanese society and people, through academic work and
interactions with Japanese students and the local people.

Eligibility
Students who meet the following conditions are eligible to apply.
1) Status
・ The applicants must be enrolled in full-time degree programs at overseas universities
that have concluded a student exchange agreement or memorandum of student exchange
with Saga University or are in the process of concluding such.
・ The student must be enrolled as a full-time student at the home institution throughout
the period of study at Saga University.
・ An applicant for SPACE-E must be an undergraduate student who has completed at least
two years of study at the home institution.

This scholarship is mainly for the person who studies to seek for a degree at Kanazawa University.

1  Qualifications

1) Nationality:

An applicant must have the nationality of a country which has diplomatic relations with the Japanese government and should come to Japan directly from abroad. Applicants who have Japanese nationality at the time of application are not eligible in principal. However, applicants of dual nationality who reside outside of Japan are eligible only if they will expatriate from Japan by the time of arrival in Japan.
