Doing Research in UGM with GMIF Students Exchange Scholarship for Graduate Program

The Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada and The Gadjah Mada International Fellowship (GMIF) Student Exchange Program stands as a beacon of educational opportunity, extended by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to international students seeking to pursue a non degree program by Student Exchange. With a special emphasis on candidates from ASEAN and low-income countries. This scholarship program aims to empower individuals with outstanding academic in the field of animal science, social and culture exchange to excel in their chosen fields of study. Through the student exchange program, participants not only enhance their own knowledge and skills but also lay the foundation for progress and development within their home countries and strengthening cooperation networks with other countries. During this program, students are required to do a research collaboration with lecturers in the Faculty of Animal Science UGM with a target publishing a research article in a conference or journal. Student have to prepare an activity plan describing the research topic and proposed activities.

10 fellowships of a one Semester Student Exchange

Faculty of Animal Science-GMIF Student Exchange Program Coverage Scholarship
• Waived tuition fee for 1 semesters;
• Living allowance expenses according to Yogyakarta rate during program (IDR 1.500.000,-/Month)
• Student Dormitory
Student/Home Institution may cover
1. Airfare ticket and visa borne by students/home institution
2. Health insurance can be partially supported by the Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah mada
3. Other personal expenses that may incur during the stay in Indonesia

Eligibility
1. Enrolled in Animal Sciences/Agricultural Faculty or Program, or in related fields in home University at least in 2nd Semester for both master/doctor
2. Good academic record (cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale or any other documents proving candidates adequate academic qualification)
3. Good proficiency in English
4. Recommendation letter from home University and Motivation Letter
5. Already plan a research topic for degree program

How to Apply

  • Register online at the UGM admission system (admission.ugm.ac.id), choose Non Degree Program, then choose Animal Science,

select GMIF Student Exchange Scholarship – International Undergraduate Program in Animal Science and Industry Odd Semester 2024

  • Fill and upload required documents:
  1. Color scan of valid passport
  2. Color scan of the passport cover
  3. Official passport-sized photograph (see the guidelines here)
  4. Copy of latest academic transcript
  5. Curriculum Vitae
  6. Good health statement from the applicant’s doctor (download the template here)
  7. Proof of English proficiency (ITP TOEFL or IELTS)
  8. Personal statement (download the template here)
  9. Motivation letter
  10. Letter of recommendation/nomination from home institution
  11. Copy of Student ID Card
  12. Research Plan

Application and Selection Time Line
Registration Deadline: 21 April 2024
Selection Process: 21 April 2024 – 9 May 2024
Awardee Announcement: 10 May 2024
Program duration: 5 August – 31 December 2024
