Introduction

Here at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Faculty of Animal Science proudly provide a unique and truly international summer experience. Our educational programs encourage intellectual exploration of the highest academic quality. This program provides you with the fantastic opportunity to increase your intercultural competence and expand your network of international friends and connections.

 

Universitas Gadjah Mada is one of the world’s leading research institutions and the highest ranked university in Indonesia, while Faculty of Animal Science has been accredited by ASIIN International Accreditation Agency, certified by ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), and accredited A (Excellent) by National Higher Education. We offer you, students from across the ASEAN Region participate in our Summer Course Program in the heart of Javanese culture – one of the safest, most comfortable and friendliest cities in Indonesia.

 

This Summer Course Program is the Program that offers you as international students who interested in animal science and agriculture, and working with the farmers. We provide a truly international experience in fantastic program, with English language and activity programs that ensure the students return home after a summer they will never forget. As with friendly Indonesian students during the academic year, international students attending summer program will enjoy a huge variety of experiences inside and outside the classroom, all shared with other students.

Program Description

  • Indonesian Language and Culture : Our team of instructors will help you to learn Bahasa Indonesia and become familiar with the local blend of Indonesian multi-cultures in this short period of time, within a supportive framework.
  • Exploring Javanese Culture : Our program offers a series of English based lectures and field trips that allow you to explore specific environmental and sociocultural aspects of Javanese, visit ancient culture environment such as Borobudur (the biggest Buddhism temple in the world, which was built in 9th century), making Batik (the traditional patterns), and traditional dance learning experience.
  • Outdoor learning: Livestock and Agricultural Activities: Field trips give you a direct understanding of rural livestock and agricultural activities of Javanese, while other trips are organized outside of Yogyakarta for an in-depth exploration of our diverse nation.
  • Class Room Lectures : Some theories and principles in animal science and agriculture are delivered by Professors who are experts in this field.
  • International Buddy : Each program offers a number of well-trained UGM students who can provide support for any problem you may encounter during your summer program.

 

Scholarship

Scholarship Offer has been closed

 

The student coming from ASEAN countries are granted with limited numbers. 10 students will be selected for granting with economy class international airfare round-trip ticket, accommodation in the hotel, and hospitality. The only extra money needed throughout your stay in Yogyakarta would be for meals and personal spending.

 

Non-scholarship

 

We also receive the number of students who granted by their institution/private with All-inclusive program fee (exclude international and domestic airfare)

International Students: 450 USD

Indonesian Students: 1,000,000 IDR

UGM Students: Free (with selection)

We offer a simple one-time payment for the entire of program expenses. The only extra money needed throughout your stay in Yogyakarta would be for personal spending.

Registration fee covers:

1. Accommodation (twin sharing) during the program:
Check in: 21 July, Check out: 31 July
*Registration fee for Indonesian participants does not cover accommodation fee. Please contact us, if you want to stay in our provided accommodation. The additional fee for accommodation is 1,750,000 (shared room check in 21 July, check out 31 July)

Notification of acceptance: 22 April 2019

Batch 1: Extended to 2 May 2019

Registration payment: 2 July 2019

Arrival to Yogyakarta: 21 July 2019

Departure from Yogyakarta: 31 July 2019

22nd July: Welcoming Ceremony, introduction of the program, campus tour, course 1, and Welcoming Dinner

23rd July: Course 2, 3, 4, and 5

24th July: Course  6, 7, 8, and 9

25th July: Course 10, 11, and 12

26th July: Visit Borobudur Temple and Farm

27th July: Visit Kraton Yogyakarta and Farm

28th July: Cultural Art and Lab Work

29th July: Lab Work and workshop

30th July: Practice and Cultural Night

31st July: Check out from the hotel, leaving for home countries
