This year this program was held on January 7-17, 2016, attended by 20 students and 2 lecturers from KNU, and 22 students and 4 lecturers from UGM. The program was held in Gunung Kidul district. The aim of this program is to help the Indonesian local farmer to provide a supportive environment for their livestock (in this case is goats) by constructing a proper pen for them. The pen construction was done for two different farmer groups in two different places, which were in Panggang and in Tepus village. In the implementation, this program went smoothly as it wished, even though there was a few simple obstacles appeared. But thankfully, this program can be done perfectly.

The hot weather around the coast in Gunung Kidul did not discourage the student’s spirit to finish their job. Indonesian and Korean students worked and cooperated together very well to help each other, however the limitation of language sometimes occurred. They lived together in the same cottage while living in Gunung Kidul, during this program, the students of both universities could also share many knowledge and culture experience between these two different countries. They shared each other foods, tried to speak each other language, learned each other daily habits, and built a great friendship during this short togetherness.

The other activity that was also done while in Gunung Kidul was visiting the local kindergarten to interact with the local communities. The students entertained them with various games and entertainments, they also gave them small gift to help them in their learning process. By this activity we attempt to know better the local community in both Tepus and Panggang  villages. By the end of this pen construction program in Tepus and Panggang,  the KNU team gave a male goat to each of two group of local farmer as a gift to indicate the accomplishment of this program.

After finishing the cage construction in Gunung Kidul , the participants brought back to Yogyakarta to do several activities in Faculty of Animal Science Universitas Gadjah Mada.  We hold a small seminar to share about livestock industry in both countries, and to share about university life in both universities. Also the KNU students did sightseeing around the campus to show them and tell them how the student’s campus life is. As a closing of this whole program, we visited two famous temples in Java Island namely Prambanan and Borobudur Temple before we send them to the Airport to get back to their country. Overall, this program was very enjoyable also give a great and memorable experience for the students.  Also this program is very beneficial for the Indonesian local farmers. Hopefully this program could be continuously held as a form of a good cooperation between these two universities also as well as a real contribution to our community.
