2019 GKS for ASEAN countries’ SCIENCE and ENGINEERING Students

The Korean Government invites outstanding students who are majoring in the fields of science and engineering at the universities and colleges of the 10 ASEAN countires. This training program is designed to provide students with an in-depth academic training in the science and engineering fields and invaluable experience in Korea. This program seeks to nurture future leaders who will contribute to the development of global society and further friendship between Korea and their home country. Students who are interested in this training program are welcome to apply.

 

Period: July 11th (Thursday) ~ August  14th (Wednesday) 2019

             (5 weeks)

Number of participants: 200 undergraduate students in total

Host Organization: National Institute for International Education (NIIED), Ministry of Education, Republic of Korea

Application Deadline:

 

Deadline for application submitted to OIA Faculty of Animal Science: May 7, 2019 (Tuesday)

Interview  at the Faculty May 8, 2019 (Wednesday)

Deadline for application submitted to the host University: May 10, 2019 (Friday)

Eligibility

  1. Be a citizen of one of the 10 ASEAN countries*

(Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam)

2. Be enrolled in the second year and above as an undergraduate student majoring in science or engineering field at one of the 10 designated ASEAN countries

3. Be fluent in English

4. Be mentally and physically healthy

5. Have the ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and life in Korea

Benefits

  • Round trip air ticket (only for international), free accommodation with meals, tuition and other program fee and traveler’s insurance will be waived.  * Participants will be responsible for transportation fare in home country (domestic flight), body check-up fee at home country and VISA processing fee.
  • Student can have certificate of completion and three academic credits.

  4. Letter of Recommendation from academic Source (Professor). The

5. Copy of the passport information page

6. Certificate of Enrollment (Official insurance from home university)

7. Transcript with original seal (Official insurance from home university) * If your university grade system is not out of 4.5, then please transfer score to out of 4.5 or out of 100.

8. Certificate of Language Test either English or Korean (* Optional)
